This policy describes how Marivium handles personal information when you use the Service. Marivium is the controller of your data.
Information we collect
- Profile data — name, rank, contact details, sea service, certificates you upload.
- Account data — email, hashed password, login history.
- Activity data — posts, messages, job applications, searches.
- Device data — IP, browser, and general location for security and analytics.
How we use it
- Operate profiles, jobs, messaging, learning, and trade features.
- Match you with relevant jobs, people, and content.
- Verify credentials and prevent fraud.
- Send transactional and (with consent) marketing communications.
Sharing
Profile fields you mark public are visible to other members. Job applications are shared with the posting employer. We use vetted service providers for hosting, email, analytics, and payments under written data agreements. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Because our members are global, data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active and for a limited period thereafter for legal and security purposes. You may request deletion from Settings or by contacting privacy@marivium.example.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and similar), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to processing of your personal data. Contact privacy@marivium.example to exercise these rights.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication.
